An old horologist sits surrounded by the many clocks that have been subjected to his healing touch. His eyes closed, a slight smile playing upon his lips, he holds a broken clock in between his spindly hands. The myriad of wrinkles running across his face mark the years of experience he has put into his craft; his arms- long and lean- are like the hands of the clock he has gently nudged all these years. He doesn’t even have to look at what he fixes anymore; he knows how to look for the pulse, the incessant ticking. His beloved companion gently grips a spanner in his mouth, hoping for a morsel of meat from his master for his loyalty. Too familiar with the funny tricks of time, he chooses to be cognizant, yet blissfully ignore its quirks. Life has taught him many lessons; unpredictability being the most important one; thus, he chooses to enjoy a quiet afternoon with his best buddy, a beer and sandwich waiting for him. He is the embodiment of wisdom, of experience, of time; after all, this isn’t the first time he’s looking for the tick of the tock.
