Reeya Rene Rajpal

Reeya Rene Rajpal is a young  artist hailing from New Delhi, India, pursuing her MA in Fine Arts: Painting from Camberwell College of Art, University of the Arts London, London. She is a Gold medallist from JMI University, Delhi in BFA Painting. She likes combining a plethora of techniques to create a style of her own. She enjoys experimenting with a wide variety of mediums, including oils, acrylics, charcoal, pigment liners and graphite amongst others. She set foot on the path of putting forth her soul into the tangible world through pigments at the burgeoning age of three. A tiny whiteboard, not only served as a plane to practice writing alphabets and numbers, but became the first surface onto which she’d weave stories in colour.

Diagnosed with SLE at the age of five, she was put under home isolation for fourteen months, this is when her artistic lexicon started taking shape. Her covert endeavours were finally put up for public viewing in 2011 at Lalit Kala Akademi at 7.5 years of age, inaugurated by masters, including Shri Krishen Khanna, Smt. Anjolie Ela Menon, Shri Ram Kumar and Shri. Akbar Padamsee. She was the youngest artist ever to exhibit at this prestigious institution (Lalit Kala Akademi).

A protégé of Shri. Krishen Khanna, she trained under his wing as a young artist, who validated her by exchanging four of his works with two of hers, along with a letter of appreciation.  

She went on to exhibit her works at Southfields Gallery London, Gurgaon in 2013 alongside other artists in a mix media exhibition of European and African art. She put up multiple displays at her school, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Delhi; followed by stepping into the professional art world by exhibiting at Indian Habitat Centre, Delhi (2022), Artix: India’s First Hotel Art Fair with Art Pilgrim gallery, Delhi (2023), Ravi Jain Annual Memorial Exhibition at Dhoomimal Gallery, Delhi (2023), TOI Art of India, Delhi and Mumbai in collaboration with Art Magnum (2024), India Art Fair, Delhi (2024) among others.

Her works have been acquired by a number of collectors, including Deepinder Goyal, CEO & Founder Eternal (Zomato), Dinesh Vazirani, CEO Saffronart and Tarun Thakral, ED Meridien Hotel & founder of Heritage Transport Museum. She has secured a gold medal in BFA Painting programme at JMI University, New Delhi and is pursuing her Masters in Fine Arts (Painting) at University of the Arts London, United Kingdom.
