The reflections in the glass pane looks into the space beyond the window, but their gaze seems to be directed at the viewer as well; bridging the ideas of self-reflection and to take in the world that surrounds us.
The artwork depicts the tactile aspects of relationships (in this case, that of a mother and child), using the brush strokes of fabric of their clothes melting into one another as they put their arms around each other. Even though physicality and proximity are an important compositional element in my work- the textured materiality of strokes merging and melting into one another represents a sort of bond that goes beyond just the flesh.
