Christmas is a time of the year that is purely designated for love, joy and cheer! The metaphorical and philosophical meaning behind this holiday is profound enough for the thinkers to ponder about; but to all the children out there; the literal ones, and then those lingering traces of wishful whispers in the grown-ups – Christmas screams toys and colors; an annual fairy tale taking form in the realm of reality.
A toy store filled with goodies and an over the top Christmas tree adorned with ornaments; a place decked with all hues in the rainbow, reeking of warmth and cheer: a vivid image right out of a child’s dream; specifically from the deep recesses of my own childhood: a naive little nook where the sleigh bells still echo….
The young blue eyed boy enamored by the abundance of toys that flood the toy chest looks through the window with a dreamy gaze; the freezing night a yin to the yang of the store’s warmth. In a trance by the overwhelming yet inviting brightness and glee of the store, he looks on with anticipation wondering which amongst these playthings would Santa leave under his tree that night. The mother, a grown adult- can’t help but stand transfixed herself; for the merriment brought about by toys isn’t restricted to only children
